Linda McAteer, MS, LMHCA, NCC takes an eclectic, compassionate approach to therapy and works with children, teens, and adults ages 8 and older who are experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional distress, trauma, behavioral concerns, interpersonal relationship challenges, parenting difficulties, and work-related stressors.
As a two-time cancer survivor, Linda brings a deeply personal and unique perspective to her work, understanding the complexities of receiving a cancer diagnosis as well as the emotional impact of supporting a loved one through illness from a caregiver’s viewpoint. This lived experience allows her to thoughtfully support individuals and families navigating chronic illness or similar life challenges.
Linda integrates a variety of evidence-based and therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Gestalt modalities, tailoring treatment to each client’s needs.
She believes writing can be a powerful and empowering tool for self-expression and healing, and she strives to provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where clients feel truly seen and heard. With the right support, Linda believes meaningful and lasting change is possible, and her hope is to help clients rediscover calm, clarity, and genuine connection in their lives.
